Of those students, 293 started their academic period at Yachay Tech on September 11, 2018. One hundred and seventy-three begin a new stage of leveling in the institution while 120 attend their first semester, after having approved the respective leveling last semester.

To welcome them, the authorities of Yachay Tech participated in an event where new students and their parents were exposed to information related to their academic training and coexistence within the university campus. The event is part of an orientation week in which new students get all the necessary information prior to the beginning of classes scheduled for Monday, September 17.

The welcome event included university authorities, headed by Rector Eduardo Ludeña, Chancellor Joaquín Brito, and the deans of the five schools.

During his speech, Rector Eduardo Ludeña highlighted important data about the student population that begins this period: 33% of the group is made up of women, three out of which belong to the High Performance Group (GAR in Spanish). In total, 5 students who join Yachay Tech belong to this outstanding group. The general average that the students obtained on the Ser Bachiller exam is 933 points, which shows the high commitment that young people have with their studies. In addition, 10% of the student population entered Yachay Tech through the Senescyt Quota Policy.

The 120 new students belong to 13 different provinces of the country, including distant provinces, like Loja.

Yachay Tech University welcomes its new students and assures them that they will have the support of their professors, who are researchers with extensive experience, and who live on campus.
