The President received a situational report from Yachay EP and ensured his support to Yachay Tech

On September 12, 2017, President Lenin Moreno visited the City of Knowledge. The reason for his visit was to receive a situational report given by the new authorities of Yachay EP on budget management and the state of the buildings, whose construction has been halted since the previous administration. The presentation of the report took place at the Sugar Mill Square on the Yachay Tech University Campus. Augusto Barrera, Secretary of Higher Education, Science and Technology was also present.

During his address, the President reassured his commitment with Yachay Tech University, ensuring that priority will be given to the infrastructure that the institution needs. Secretary Augusto Barrera also stated his commitment and ensured that both “made the strong decision to support Yachay Tech University and to make it a priority”. President Moreno also stated that the material problems can be solved because the university has faculty members that are committed, staff eager enough to move forward and the most essential asset: their students.
