YACHAY TECH STUDENT IS PART OF THE “DISRUPTIVE WOMAN ECUADOR” PROGRAM

The first edition of the Disruptive Woman Ecuador, a program on public management and citizen empowerment aimed at women leaders between the ages of 21 and 29, chose María Fernanda Bósquez as a fellow. Bósquez is a sixth-semester student of the School of Chemical Sciences and Engineering of Yachay Tech.

The program will be developed in virtual mode for 6 months and will have a certification of 200 academic hours, which includes autonomous work in each module. The scholarship is valued at $ 2,000.

Thanks to this initiative, Ma. Fernanda Bósquez will have access to a training and empowerment program that aims to transform the Ecuadorian public function through the inclusion of highly trained women.

“The academic training received at Yachay Tech has opened the doors to a world of great possibilities. I hope to take advantage of everything I learn during the program, to work in the future so that more women have the opportunity to get involved in STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and exploit all the potential we have,” says María Fernanda.

She adds that “it is essential to be persistent with our aspirations and to get involved in this type of empowerment programs, as a tool to spread the message that all Ecuadorians, especially women, have that hidden potential to go very far.”

The initiative is financed thanks to the competitive funds for former scholarship holders of the United States Embassy in Ecuador, with the academic endorsement of national and international organizations, such as the San Francisco de Quito University. The organizing team includes members who are specialists in various areas and external advisors who collaborate in the management, development and positioning of the program.

With these actions, Yachay Tech continues to strengthen national and international relationships that expand educational opportunities for students.
