Gabriela Portilla Torres, M.Sc.


Gabriela is an EFL instructor from Ibarra. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Técnica del Norte University, some years later she graduated from Kansas State University, where she got his master degree in Curriculum & Instruction with emphasis on English as a Second Language (ESL). She has studied in the USA during approximately two years where she was able to participate in an English Training program and in a master’s program. Both programs were sponsored by the Ecuadorian government. She has teaching experience in all levels of education (pre-school, elementary, middle, high school, & college).

Research Interests

She was selected as speaker to present in the 1st EcuaTESOL Convention developed in Guayaquil- Ecuador as well as in the 45th MexTESOL convention held in Monterrey- Mexico with the Conference called «Get Your Gambling On For English Learning» and “Closing Comprehension Gaps using Literature Circles:  Classics to Blockbusters”.
