Mayra Mora, M.Sc.

Biografía

Mayra Mora Constante was born in Quito, Ecuador. She received her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Escuela Politécnica Nacional (EPN) in 2013 while at the same time working for Repsol (since 2011 to 2014) in Processes and Corrosion Laboratory. After, she returned to EPN as a teacher for the Chemistry Engineering Faculty where she taught Petroleum Refining Laboratory Classes.

In 2015, Mayra attended Universidad de Barcelona, Spain, where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Renewable Energies and Sustainability. During this time, she earned a top scholarship in Funseam (Foundation for Energy and Environmental Sustainability) while collaborating with various organizations related to Energy and Environmental Policy.

Mayra has been working at Yachay Tech in the School of Physical Sciences and Nanotechnology since 2018 as a Laboratory 3 Technician. Not only is she a Technician, she is also one of the top representatives of Yachay’s Safety Commission. She has held events like her “Laboratory Safety Instructions Seminar” to spread awareness about safety around campus. For 2019, Mayra will be working with teachers from Yachay Tech in order to develop biosensors based on modified carbon nanotubes for enzymes detection.
