Verónica Sandoya, Ph.D.

Biografía

Verónica was born in Quito, Ecuador. In 2007, she got her Bachelor Degree in Biology from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. Then, she received in 2012 her M.Sc. from Universidad de Concepción (Chile), where she worked in the Ecobiosis Laboratory and Invasions Lab. In 2015, she started her PhD at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona on the functional and phylogenetic ecology of plants.
Verónica has worked in different investigations, ecological foundations, academic and for the Environment Ministry. Since 2014, she joined Yachay as a tutor of biology and professor of lab Biology.
She received the following scholarships: SENESCYT, 2009-2011, Master Program of Science (Botany). SENESCYT, 2015-2019, PhD Program in Terrestrial Ecology (Ecology of plants).

Research interests
Ecology, Biogeography, Distribution and Conservation, Evolutionary Ecology.
