The Earth Observation Center will carry out the research and development of innovative products in the field of remote sensing and geographic information systems sciences. Data from satellites, aircrafts, drones and geophysical studies will contribute to understanding our planet, ensuring our environment and managing our resources. This data can transform and improve the current state of the Ecuadorian nation. The Center will undertake studies across a broad spectrum, including volcanic monitoring, seismic surveys, climate change and El Niño phenomena, pollution, deforestation and forest degradation, exploration of natural resources, geophysical studies, marine and lake studies, among others.
Looking ahead, it is expected that the center will develop and market new terrestrial observing instruments.
