Kevin Chamorro

Biography

Short bio

Kevin Chamorro is a Mathematician from Yachay Tech University who obtained a Master’s degree in Analysis and Visualization of Big Data from the International University of La Rioja. He has been working as a professor at Yachay Tech University for the past few years, with a focus on training young leaders with strong principles in research, innovation, and interdisciplinary activities, which he believes are the key contributions that can be made to their country. Chamorro has taught various mathematics courses, including Linear Algebra, Differential and Integral Calculus, Fundamentals of Mathematics, Probability, and Statistics. He has specialized in the area of analysis and visualization of Big Data, combining his mathematical background with interdisciplinary scientific research in mathematics, computer science, bio-statistics, and health. His research work has resulted in the publication of several scientific articles in top-ranked international journals. He has also served as a collaborating member of the scientific research team Clinical Epidemiology group (CEPID) at Yachay Tech University, working on two scientific projects: (1) “Analysis of predictive biomarkers for the severity of COVID-19 pneumonia in Ecuadorian patients” and (2) “Application of data mining to stratify the severity of COVID-19 patients”. These research projects have been reflected in the publication of scientific articles in top-ranked international journals in the first quartile of Scopus.
