In compliance with the provisions of the Organic Law on Citizen Participation and Social Control, Yachay Tech University informed the University Community of the actions carried out and the milestones reached during 2022 and made its Accountability Report available for the public on its website.

In the year 2022, Yachay Tech obtained its longed-for institutionalization. This milestone was reached thanks to the hard work of actors of the Higher Education System and the support of students, administrative and academic staff.

In its 9 years of existence, Yachay Tech has established itself as one of the main universities dedicated to research, science and technology, both nationally and internationally.

Becoming institutionalized was one of the main objectives in the year 2022, which was achieved through the establishment of the constituencies of Employees and Workers, Students, Faculty, and the election of the Rector and Vice-Rector.

In regard to the training subsystem, the Internal Admission and Leveling Regulations of Yachay Tech were created. In addition, University worked on the diversification of its academic offer, executed master’s programs and established and procedures and regulations for the evaluation and self-evaluation of its majors and programs.

In parallel, the Communication Plan was approved while the Institutional Research Plan, the Community Engagement Plan and other administrative-financial subsystems for the proper functioning of Yachay Tech were prepared, such as the Strategic Plan for Institutional Development 2021-2024. A follow-up of the recommendations made by the Comptroller General of the State, and a coded inventory of assets, goods and real estate of Yachay Tech were also done.

Thanks to the joint work of all the university key actors, a solid co-government was formed and a new administration began with clear objectives, working hand in hand with the University Community to strengthen research and innovation and provide a relevant and high-quality undergraduate and graduate-level education.

During his speech, Andrés Rosales, Rector of Yachay Tech, highlighted: “In its 9 years, Yachay Tech University has followed an outstanding path, providing a remarkable education to its students with a suitable performance in research and innovation while maintaining high quality standards.”

Finally, the Rector thanked the entire University Community and highlighted the importance of the collaboration of faculty, administrative staff and all those who are part of Yachay Tech in achieving the objectives established at the beginning of his new administration.

During the event, the deans of the schools and administrative directors gathered to highlight the work of the 46 Student Clubs that students have formed as complementary activities to their academic duties, and thus recognize the work they day by day to complete their higher education.

In response to a constitutional obligation, the University has been holding this event every since it was created, in line with the principles of institutional efficiency and transparency. The event, embodied in the 2022 Accountability Report, allows us to inform the University Community and the general public about the most important milestones, achievements and results from the 2022 period.
