Projects with the Technical Institute
Yachay Tech, as part of its outreach and social strategies, contributes to the development of the educational communities located in the City of Knowledge, specifically working with the Technological Institute “17 de Julio” by carrying out institutional strengthening activities among the Student Welfare Departments.
This project was born from the collaboration between Paúl Molina, academic director of Yachay Tech and Ricardo Silva, PhD, rector of the institute.
The Department of Student Welfare develops psychodiagnostic activities, provides psychosocial care and provides networking with other institutions for care, in various areas.
Proposals for training have already taken place through workshops regarding the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (such as HIV / AIDS), gender violence, early pregnancy, drug use and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Recreational areas have also been encouraged for the proper use of leisure time and activities that strengthen the proper development of students.
With the aim of contributing to the students, they have taught the subjects of Conflict Transformation, Leadership and Motivation of Groups, Study Techniques, University and Good Living and Strategic Planning and Community Projects Administration. These subjects were addressed to 317 students studying Primary Health Care, Social Security and Social Control, Sports Training, Technology in Automotive Mechanics, Technology in Industrial Electricity, Technology in Automation and Instrumentation.
Currently, the project is led by Cristina Ponce, a tutor at Yachay Tech, who has experience in advising and coordinating community-based projects.
