The Yachay Tech family grows

243 students attended Moving Day on Campus to start their leveling process.

Yachay Tech Moving Day took place on June 24, 2017. The event was held at the university campus, located in Urcuquí, Imbabura. The whole new generation of students and their families attended. This semester the student body grows to 1000 students, with 243 new students coming on this starting semester.

On Moving Day, the families of new students joined them during their moving process on campus, their orientation and a welcome speech from the Rector of the University . The day started with the assignation of student residencies for the new students and continued with a series of orientation talks given by Jordi Cevallos and Karen Sánchez, students representatives, Alexandra Delgada, Student Welfare Coordinator, and Paúl Molina, the university’s Academic Director.

The event concluded with a couple of words given by Carlos Castillo-Chavez, Yachay Tech University’s rector. During his speech, Carlos welcomed students and expressed his gratitude towards their families, for trusting the university. He also reinforced the students’ commitment with the institution. All 243 new students entered their leveling process which will be later on followed up by the university’s common core. They will also attend different orientation events during the week between June 26 and July 2.
