Young people looking for solutions

Ten students from Yachay Tech will organize the first congress of science, politics and innovation IKWADOR, in order to find solutions to the current most urgent problems.

Ten Yachay Tech students were selected to participate in the Shaping Horizons Summit, organized by the University of Cambridge, in England. The group of students, formed by Patricia Rengel, Renzo Caamaño, Lizbeth Zamora, Andres Mena, Marjorie Zambonino, Claudia Moncada, Sherald Noboa, Josue Solorzano, Mishell Brito and Luis Murillo, will organize a congress in which they will reproduce the model of the summit where students, faculty, and leaders of social organizations will participate in talks and cooperation sessions. The profits of the Congress will be used to cover the students’ trip to participate in this event.

The congress will address four thematic axes: Human beings and Nature, Our Future, Fourth Industrial Revolution, and Social Changes. In addition, young leaders of the country will have a space to present their projects. The attendants and the speakers will look for solutions to the most important problems of each axis. The final objective of the Congress is to turn the solutions into projects of a simple implementation.

The conference will be held in the city of Ibarra on July 5, 2019. Registration will be open to university students at a cost of USD 15, starting on June 15, 2019. Shaping Horizons

Shaping Horizons is a summit and action program that has the aim of gathering young leaders from across Latin America and the UK. During the congress, the attendants will look for solutions to the most urgent problems of bilateral cooperation between the European country and the region, which will finally be specified in projects. The summit is organized by the University of Cambridge and the hub Global Shapers Community located at the University.
