EULAC-Focus meets in Argentina

It is the fourth meeting of the project; the third was in Ecuador and the fifth will be in Austria

Thanks to EULAC-Focus, Yachay Tech has been part of the evaluation and transformation of the relationship between countries of Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe in matters of Higher Education, Science and Technology. The representative of the University for the project is Simone Belli, who attended the 4th Meeting of the EULAC-Focus project in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The purpose of the meetings is to find out what will shape the social policy, culture, and science in Latin American, Caribbean and European countries in the future. Also, to understand how this will influence their relationship. In the event, these questions were met from the perspective of innovation and the construction of scenarios.

The EULAC-Focus project is divided into work packages that seek to explore and resize the EU-CELAC relationship (Europe and the States of Latin America and the Caribbean) by stages and in the concentration of specific subjects. These work packages (WP) include project coordination (WP1), Trans-sectorial pathways (WP2), Culture (WP3), Science (WP4), Social (WP5), Common Vision (WP6), Dissemination (WP7). Some of the WPs are transversal and are interconnected, as the graph shows:

The 4th EULAC-Focus meeting, held in Buenos Aires, began with a meeting of the WP3, of culture; which was attended by work teams and guests from Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the analysis of the diagnosis of the cultural relationship between Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe and to analyze ways to improve that relationship.

Finally, the Argentinian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MINCYT), together with the EULAC-Focus team and the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), organized a public meeting entitled “Gender and Transnational Knowledge Networks: Status and Participation in the international scientific exchange “. Patricia Gómez, Research Secretary of the Argentinian Network of Gender, Science and Technology, was the person who led the meeting. The next meeting of the project will be in Vienna, Austria, in June 2018.
