SWEARING-IN OF STUDENTS REPRESENTATIVES FOR THE CO-GOVERNMENT BODY OF THE UNIVERSITY

The swearing-in ceremony of the student representatives for the co-government body of the University was held yesterday. Rector Carlos Castillo-Chávez and Legal Secretary María de Lourdes Miranda directed the event and gave diplomas to Jordy José Cevallos Chávez and Karen Elizabeth Sánchez Blacio, elected during the May 11 elections. Students, faculty, and staff attended the ceremony.

Carlos Castillo-Chávez gave a short speech to the audience and highlighted the transparency throughout the election process. Then, Jordy Cevallos, main representative, pointed out the evolution of the university and his commitment to work with the university authorities for the benefit of the student community.

The wearing-in of Jordy and Karen as representatives of the students closes the first stage of the process to elect representatives. The processes to elect faculty and staff representatives will start soon.
