Yachay Tech graduated its first class

On September 27, 2019, the graduation of the First Class of Yachay Tech was held on the University Campus located in Urcuquí, Imbabura. A total of 61 students from the ten majors graduated

The ceremony began with a speech given by Hermann Mena, Ph.D., Rector of Yachay Tech, who highlighted the students’ abilities as an example of transformation and growth. In addition, he highlighted the faculty’s work to promote and accompany the scientific research of the students during these 5 years.

After the Rector’s speech, the students from the 5 Schools of the University received their diplomas. One by one, the new graduates of the majors of: Chemistry, Petro chemistry, Polymers, Mathematics, Information Technology, Physics, Nanotechnology, Geology, Biology, and Biomedicine approached the Board of Directors (Rector, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, Deans and other authorities) to receive their diploma.

Subsequently, students who achieved the Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude distinctions were recognized. The students who received these distinctions were: Jordy Jamil Sarmas, Diana Lisseth Pereira, Richard Andrés Torres and María Rosa Preciado (who obtained the highest average of the entire class, with a final grade of 9.6). The ceremony ended with the oath-taking of the 61 graduates, administered by Rector Mena
