YACHAY TECH HOLDS I INTERNATIONAL SIMPOSIUM ON BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES AND BIOMEDICINE

Yachay Tech University held the “I International Symposium Trends on Biological Sciences and Biomedicine” as a setting focused on learning about the evolution that these sciences have experienced in their field of application. The event gathered important members of the local and international scientific community.

The I International Symposium Trends on Biological Sciences and Biomedicine was born as a joint initiative of the School of Biological Sciences and Engineering, the Student Chapter of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society, the Student Association and Alumni of Biology and Biomedical Engineering, the Biomedical Engineering Club and the BioScience Club of Yachay Tech University. The event was held online on March 5 and 12.

The main objective of this event was to exchange, disseminate and contribute to the update of information of the main techniques that are being employed in these fields when facing the different challenges that require even more efficient methods for research and integration of clinical and molecular data.

The Symposium created very high expectations in the scientific and academic community, both nationally and internationally, as it gathered around 1040 participants and 300 participants from 12 countries including Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay, El Salvador, Colombia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Paraguay and Bolivia.

The main attendees were undergraduate students who were able to communicate and interact with the guest speakers and who were able to learn about the scientific activity that takes place at Yachay Tech University by their faculty, researchers and students, as well as other institutions from Latin America to Australia.

The speakers presented the newest and most important discoveries in the fields of Biology and Biomedicine, which allowed attendees to have a better understanding of the current status of these sciences. At the same time, new networking opportunities were established for future collaborations between researchers in Biology and Biomedicine.

The next edition of the International Symposium on Trends on Biological Sciences and Biomedicine 2023 will have a broader agenda that will include thematic axes, workshops and other activities.
