The ceremony to appoint the winners of the IV Contest of Merits and Opposition for Academic Staff was carried out in Yachay Tech, in Hacienda San José. The event was attended by the main authorities of the university, faculty and relatives of the winners.

Diego Peréz D. EdD., rector of Yachay Tech and president of the CIFI, led the ceremony and congratulated the 21 new tenured professors from the different schools as part of the institutionalization process carried out by University.

The rector began his speech by highlighting the hard work put in to carry out this contest of merits and opposition to achieve institutionalization. “We are here to complete this stage and enter the final stretch that is the creation of the Superior Collegiate Body of Yachay Tech” said Pérez.

“Congratulations to each one of you and the entire Yachay Tech university community. You all have a great responsibility not only with the university but also with your students, who require your guidance and knowledge to learn together and meet their goals. You have a commitment to this noble institution because your responsible decision will name the authorities that will have the joint challenge of running the future of Yachay Tech.”

Finally, the Rector stated: “You are the best of the best and this implies a commitment to the institution, to the canton, to the province, to the country and, above all, to yourselves.”

Subsequently, each of the winners signed their respective personnel actions. Of the 25 spots offered, 21 were filled, which proved an 84% efficiency during the process.

Gabriela Ruiz, Ph.D., winning professor and head of the School of Biological Sciences and Engineering, began her speech by thanking her family and those who were part of her achievements, and highlighted the work and organization of the process.

“It is an honor for me to be part of such a wonderful human group and that after an effort of 4 months, we achieved job stability in such a noble institution that we love and admire. Congratulations to all for what is and will be the best university of Ecuador”, stated Ruiz.
